                                My Sanibel Vacation

From SanibelIsland.com:

"Have you ever… dreamed of being on a tropical island, your toes in the soft white sand, an expansive beach, swaying coconut palms, lush tropical foliage and beautiful crystal blue water. Imagine watching the pelicans and herons fish for their dinner, collecting "treasures from the sea," pastel colored seashells, while the sandpipers scurry along the surfs edge.

Sanibel Island has everything one could wish for...excellent restaurants, accommodations, golfing, tennis, fishing, boating, shopping, bike paths, canoes, theatrical productions, the renowned J.N. "Ding Darling" National Wildlife Refuge & Bird Sanctuary. Since 1884 Point Ybel Lighthouse has guided seafarers to Sanibel Island's shores.

Sanibel Island is world renowned for its shelling beaches and the "Sanibel Stoop". In the travel industry Sanibel Island is a top Florida destination for visitors. If you want a truly unforgettable family vacation, holiday, wedding, honeymoon, anniversary or get-away, this is the place to be. Visit Sanibel Island and do it all… or just lay back on the beach with the book you’ve been wanting to read or… just do absolutely nothing. All this is just a short ride from Fort Myers International Airport, Florida."

In 2013 my wife and I took a vacation and stayed on this island for a week.

We were rented a condo located on the channel and here you can see photos of the great room.

Here is now a kitchen looks like and it's me ...  fishing.

Here are shoreline condos built by idiots who saved a couple of bucks on the walls shielding A/C units and as a result you can see them all exposed... Very nice view for some simpleminded knuckleheads!

The air handler sits in the utility closet and separated from the rest of the condo by the louvered door it's why you are able to hear this bustard in every corner of every room.

In Florida they probably having a shortage of thermostat wire, it's why they placed a thermostat next to the utility room and right under a supply register (a register in the photo below on the right). Because of that, the unit is short cycling and you are able to enjoy that incredible noise over and over again!

In the photos you can see commercial grade supply register installed in the bedroom and above the thermostat.

I don't know if this code in Florida to install this kind of expensive registers, but then a contractor saved on the flex that is connecting them to the unit. All the flexes were undersized and this definitely was a contributing factor to the noise...

The register you are able to see in the photos above installed in the bedroom right in front of the bed and it was blowing really cold air right into my head. So I decided that this is a stupid idea to catch a cold in Florida in September and played with its louvers for a while. Now I understand why they install these kind of registers. Thank you guys it was very helpful!

OK, for the entire one bedroom condo these so-called professional installers installed 4 (four) supply registers. They used 4' and 5' flexes to connect these registers to the unit and as a result made life in these condos simply unbearable. I know, there are a lot of competition, but what if they would use just a little bit of common sense?

The system of ductwork in the photos above an below is very common for this type of commercial applications. What was unusual it's the use of these muzzles that directing the cool air right to the certain spots on the store's floor.

Once you catch the spot you would probably stay there for the rest of the day sorting out merchandises around you and, as a result, you may even something to buy...
